This new train station restaurant, Roberts Block, was recommended to my sister by a friend , and had a fun looking hip menu and ambiance . My birthday dinner followed by a live show at the Keswick , surrounded by family and friends. Sounds like a delightful evening …
However, that’s where the good time ended.

We arrived at our table and our waitress greeted us … she was pleasant and recited the daily specials. We ordered several drinks and appetizers to get the night g

Roberts Block Restaurant and Bar I am sorry about your bad experience. I would like to say Roberts Block tried to make your evening as best we could. It seemed as though nothing that evening was going to satisfy you. Your table ordered nachos as an appetizer which comes with a cheese See More

Natalie Hoyer Zighelboim Joan McgowanSchofield the restaurant didn’t charge me after repeatedly bringing food that would have sent me to the emergency room, in addition to being rude . This was the very least they could do .

Joan Mcgowan Schofield Best advise:
Always carry your Epi-Pen and Benadryl and never order ANY food that you could give you a life threatening allergic reaction.
Sounds like that was the beginning of a bad experience at the Resturant. See More

Why is this the best kept secret in Glenside? In attempts to find a close to home spot to have cocktails and appetizers we stumbled upon Roberts Block. While it wasn’t easy to find via google search – we are glad to have walked in. The root beer wings are by far some of the best we’ve had in some time. The flatbread seemed to use homemade dough and our cocktails were delicious. This is a great spot to meet friends for drinks or date night.
Some things to consider… we arrived after 10pm and the lights were so bright that the ambiance was impacted. For a Friday the restaurant is very slow – and I saw multiple people walk from the train station to the door- review the menu – and walk away.
My recommendation – try it. You will like it.

I don’t like to write reviews however tonight’s highly advertised anniversary event was horrible. We let the not having our drinks on tap and telling us 20 minutes after we had put our order in that you also ran out of the appetizer go. Recommending the advertised 50 cent wings in place of what you ran out of yet charged us full price on the wings (which we inquired about when we first got there but was told the special didn’t apply to us) we let that go. The not telling us

Loved my lamb burger, also tasted charcuterie board, crab corn chowder, shepherd’s pie….all delicious. We sat in the last room, and towards the end of our meal, 6 younger people came in from the bar and it got very loud. So loud in fact, that the next couple to be seated asked to move after 5 minutes. Hopefully they can do something about that in / the future.@

Meh. Food is so-so. A little over priced. Drinks are average to over priced. Server was nice enough but it did take a good amount of time. Food wasn’t piping hot so I’m not sure if it was her fault or the kitchens. That being said however , they do have live music there quite often and that will always be a bonus and keep me coming back.

The first time we were there last year it was awesome. Had HUGE portion of seared scallops and my son had a super THICK steak and could barely finish it it was so huge, but delicious. Last night I had the crab cake entree and it was not so good. Crab flavor but no discernable pieces of crab at all. Seemed like all filler.
Root beer wings were sweet and kind of tasted like Root beer but the wings they covered were rubbery and not at all crisp. The 2 red snapper entrees at the table must have been adequate because no comments were made at all about the dish. And usually these two gush about a great dish.
We were happy to get a table for 630, though with very little notice on a beautiful Friday night

Very cool, inviting atmosphere. Good beer selection. Food was just meh. Ok. Had a salad which was good. Mussels were not fresh, but they are out of season. My bad. Pesto primavera was ok. Maybe if I ordered something else. I’ll be back to give them another try.

We had our niece’s college Graduation party here on Sunday and everything was FABULOUS! Their private rooms are GORGEOUS, the food was great and the staff was AWESOME!! Never a moment when we didn’t have someone RIGHT THERE to refill drinks, or whatever else we needed. The owner was incredibly easy to work with and made sure every detail was PERFECT!! I HIGHLY recommend this venue!!

We loved our meals, did more on the light fare side, but would definitely go back for the whole dining experience.
The beer, wine, and liquor choices were very well curated.
Staff seemed very young, but were quite personable, if not quite service professionals.

The food and the service were very good. I am only giving 3 stars as we called in advance and asked if they could accommodate my food allergy, and we were told they would 100{6d61022f0f72ef4732697c057612305b177ff56cb38f9872b0c5e5afb1bc3e90} be able to accommodate me. When it was actually time to order, I was very limited in my selections of dishes. I was less than pleased that I couldn’t try my first few menu choices as most of the food was precooked.

Natalie Hoyer Zighelboim I had a similar issue with a food allergy. I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone with food restrictions or who appreciates good customer service.

Been there a few times, usually the food is phenomenal, some times it’s so-so. Last night 4 of us went, I asked for my New York strip medium-rare, it was well done. They sent a second one out cooked very rare, (yes I know the difference,) was red and cold in the center, and was an exceptionally tough cut of meat. Ate 2 bites… once we went, I had risotto, rice was a little undercooked, more than al dente… other than that everything we’ve all had has been fantastic, the homestyle meals (meatloaf, shepards pie) were amazing… I’d stay away from the steaks. Good draft beer selection and specialty drinks. Service has always been good.

We love it here. It’s like the “Cheers” bar. Casual, comfy and the food is great. We mostly get appetizers and salads but the main meals we’ve seen come out look fantastic. They have live music a couple of nights a week now so looking forward to that!

I had dinner with a long lost friend last night at Roberts Block. The food was delicious — I had the Beet salad and Roasted Butternut Squash Risotto! Both we perfect! The waitstaff checked back several times to see if we needed anything. The entree was brought out in a timely manner, after I finished my salad. I met the owner, Joy, and we had a great conversation on my way out. She and her husband also own Bonnet Lane, my very favorite diner. I highly recommend Roberts Block.
